Airdrie's growth means the housing is young, and young housing has a particular set of flooring problems. Communities like Cooper's Crossing, Bayside, Kings Heights and Windsong are dominated by two-storey homes with open-plan main floors, wide-plank engineered hardwood or luxury vinyl, and a staircase that is visible from the front door the moment you walk in. Two things follow from that. First, the registers are all in sight of each other, so a mismatched vent is not a small detail — it's repeated six or eight times across one sightline. Second, that prominent staircase means the stair nosing is the single most looked-at piece of trim in the house. Builder-grade nosing in a near-enough colour is the most common thing we're asked to replace in Airdrie.

Getting to us

Our shop sits in northwest Calgary, which puts it on the Airdrie side of the city — a straight run down the QEII, around half an hour. You drop your flooring off at the shop and collect the finished pieces from us when they're ready; we don't deliver.
